Fernando Alonso says Ferrari has proved it is now moving in the right direction again by qualifying third at Silverstone.
The double champion admitted he was getting concerned as his team drifted away from McLaren and Red Bull in early summer - but in Britain he has been the closest challenge to the runaway Red Bulls all weekend.
"I think we have improved the car, no doubt, in Valencia and Canada was good as well, so we've continued," said Alonso.
"We've continued to develop the car and to perform better and better.
"We had some doubts around Barcelona and the Turkish Grand Prix, but now we're improving the car, I feel more comfortable now and we're performing better."
But he cautioned that Ferrari had been back on the pace in Canada and Valencia but not delivered the results he really wanted - so it was imperative for Ferrari to take a big points haul in Britain.
"We didn't score the points we wanted [in Montreal and Valencia] because different conditions happened to us and to the races," said Alonso.
"But I think here we are strong again, we are competitive - hopefully tomorrow we'll finish the job and we'll score some good points tomorrow.
"We need the points tomorrow."
